My solution to the problem rests with the creation of new business organization focused strictly on the domestic market. The problem is are you willing to pay $500 or $2,000 for a Laptop.
Before making those decisions, what needs to happen is equal price regimes. The current trade policies will not benefit the U.S. in the long-term. In the long-term, the U.S. will be reduced to a third world economy.
The problems are government bureaucracy, environmental and tax disincentives, as well as U.S. foreign dept.
As a dying leader, the U.S. needs to get rid of government bureaucracy (cut the red time to entrepreneurship), lobby for worldwide environmental standards (regardless of merit and developmental disincentives), and work towards equal cost regimes.
In the long-run, there will be no cost-regimes incentives to outsource work abroad and illegal immigration. The costs of transportation and immigration will make no sense.
Why should a company hire people abroad when people can do the same work for the same price? Given transportation costs, this makes no sense. Why should a person leave his family, friends, and home country so he can work abroad. He can make as much money working at home.
It's not us against them. It's about mutual understanding. I hope I have made things clear.
Good Night and Good Luck
