Americans are not financial idiots. Their problem is that the capitalistic system has pressured them to buy what they cannot realistically afford. Hence, we buy on credit to the tune that our national consumer credit card debt is about 400,000,000,000 dollars. About 80% of credit card holders are over their heads in debt. Debt is what is keeping the economic system afloat. BUT, for how long?
