What have you done to spread these messages/concerns?

We know that all of you are concerned with these issues so perhaps instead of asking what you have done, it might be more useful to ask what CAN be done to spread these messages.

discussed issues with others--some who are like-minded, others who are not.

I work in a locally owned family hardware store. I talk to customers and co-workers all day long about the current state of the economy. More and more recently I've been telling people to research Ron Paul and support him as he runs for President.
90% of my co-workers are Republicans. They are ticked off about our current economic and political circumstances, but none know what to do.

As far as a down turn in the housing market goes. Our parent store is the largest lumber yard in our region. Their lumber sales are down 50% from previous years. One of the owners told me the other day that they are very concerned about the market.

The real problem in our area is "plastic wealth". Most of our customers that buy luxury items in our store, live in 1/2 to 3/4 million dollar homes. The average household income in this area is 90 to 100k per year. If you do the mortgage calculation add in payment on a Lexus and a BMW subtract what Uncle Sam gets, you have to borrow against your "equity" to eat.

That's my two cents. By the way I'm only 30 years old, have an Associate of Applied Business. I went to college at 18 and paid for it myself. I don't know that many folks my age who can say the same.

Simple: Try to discuss with sane friends. Get your own financial house in order. Buy American. Cut back. Try to raise your children in a responsible way.
