Two months ago, General Electric announced plans to sell its 101-year-old appliance division. Now, GE is planning to sell the entire Consumer & Industrial group in the face of falling stocks and decreased sales, according to Bloomberg.com. Co-founded by the creator of the light-bulb, Thomas Edison, GE represents American ingenuity and industry. The Consumer & Industrial group maintains 50,000 U.S. jobs and profits $13.3 billion in domestic revenue. These jobs and revenue will be lost if GE sells out to India or China. This iconic industry should remain in America for the future benefit of the economy and country. Source Bloomberg.com:
