Americans Fight For Anheuser-BuschPublished 06/24/08 Jeff Bennett - Print ArticleE-mail - editor@economyincisis.org Americans are displaying their nationalism, fighting to stop InBev from purchasing Anheuser-Busch for $46.3 billion dollars. For the nation, Anheuser-Busch is a strong domestic company. For the citizens, Anheuser-Busch represents an American culture synonymous with baseball and apple pie. However it is viewed, Anheuser is American and it needs to stay that way. Most importantly, Anheuser-Busch is a company that promotes American jobs, profits and technology. It must not choose to reside in Belgium, where Anheuser-Busch would lose its ability to compete and Americans would place a continued dependence on imports. As long as we retain Anheuser-Busch, Americans are ensured a steady inflow of money domestically, the ability to remain a strong competitor in the market and continued American jobs.
