guest says "100% tax on millionaires and billionaires" on 05/29/08
There should be 100% tax on all earnings above $1 million per year and a 50 year retroactive tax to reclaim the trillions looted from the American public into the hands of the wealthy and the corporations and the military industrial complex. Otherwise, we might as well call America what it is: an oligarchy in democratic clothing.

Minimum wage should be $25 per hour for all legal US citizens (illegals must be booted) and Maximum (yearly) wage should be $1 million. More than enough for any human to live with every necessity and in tremndous luxury and style. Naked Greed left unchecked destroys democracy and causes needless poverty and hardship for the population.

Some hedge fund managers earned OVER $1 billion in salaries in 2007-
even while investors LOST money. That's criminial behavior and is obscene and immoral. It makes everyone else poorer and weaker in a democracy and gives all the benefits of wealth to the few at the expense of the many.

Power buys political access. Power buys recognition. Power buys favors. Power buys lower taxes for the wealthy. Power buys the ability to rig the system for your own benefit at the expense of the public. In America, money is power.

Democracy cannot continue to exist with a system designed of, by, and for the wealthiest Americans and corporations. If America is to become a democratic nation, it must regulate wages to insure that all citizens have near similar political power and access.
