Boeing Upbeat on Tanker Prospects

Published 05/22/08 Economy In Crisis - Print Article

Source The Chicago Tribune:

Albaugh (who heads Boeing's Defense unit) laid out the case for Boeing's protest, the first in the company's nearly century-long history, of the Air Force's decision to award the $35 billion tanker contract to the parent company of rival Airbus SAS.

The Government Accountability Office on June 18 is expected to rule on Boeing's claim that the Air Force unfairly structured the competition to favor rival European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. and its partner, Northrop Grumman Corp., in their plan to use a modified Airbus A330 aircraft to refuel Air Force planes.
